Junior 2 Crowned National Champions!

The EVO Athletic Cheer Teams had a strong showing at the 2022 All Out National Championships this past weekend in Orlando Florida. The Mini Novas made their debut as an Elite team and did not disappoint, hitting all of their stunts on both Saturday and Sunday and placing 4th overall in the mini division. EVO’s Junior level 1 team, Jolo, was incredible both days and placed 3rd in a tough division where the top 4 teams were separated by less than one point. Just2fy, EVO’s Junior level 2 team, highlighted the weekend with two amazing 1st place performances and earned National Champion rings. Rounding out this incredible weekend was EVO’s mighty Senior Coed Level 4 team, Legit4. This team dominated the mat with 2 mind-blowing performances & despite a technicality putting them in first, showed they were the team to beat moving forward.  Congratulations to all the athletes, coaches and parents!  We can’t wait for this weekend’s performances at the NCA Sunshine Classic!

EVO’s 13s Crowned Undefeated Champions

EVO Volleyball kicked off its official tournament season at the 2022 New Years Classic, hosted in both Wesley Chapel and Winter Haven. All 4 travel teams played their hearts out and 3 of the 4 teams advanced to the prestigious gold bracket hosted on Sunday – EVO’s 11U, 13U and 15U Teal.  These top level teams represented EVO in championship fashion both on and off the courts.

While all of EVO’s teams made their EVO family proud, the 13U team was unstoppable the entire weekend.  They dominated the competition going 6-0 in matches and 12-0 in sets to become the gold bracket’s undefeated champions. Not only did the 13’s showcase superior skills and teamwork but they were also complimented by the tournament’s head official for their character and sportsmanship, something EVO families hold as top priority.

Head Coach Nick Behrens said the team entered this tournament with the unmatched confidence needed to ignore any intimidation they might face. They showed an unparalleled sense of trust and respect for not only each other but also their coaches and their perseverance through this undefeated tournament is a testament of that fact.  Behrens stated “It was truly wonderful to see our players and parents have this experience and sharing that moment when we were the only team left standing. A memory nobody can ever take away from them!”

EVO’s volleyball program is now focused on their next tournament – The Gasparilla Volleyball Kickoff Classic – February 19-21st in Tampa.

EVO’s Volleyball Armed with Skills of Much Older Teams

EVO’s volleyball program started their season with a big WIN against Gulf Coast Junior Volleyball Club.   On Monday, December 13th, EVO’s 11 and under girl’s volleyball team traveled to Parrish, Florida for a 3 game scrimmage against their 12 and under team.  The team and their coaches have big goals for this season and they didn’t disappoint in their first match up of the 2021-2022 club season.  Armed with big overhand serves and skills far above standard 11U teams,  this EVO team showed off all they’ve been trained to do in an amazing showcase of agility and team work.  Many of the girls had never seen a competitive volleyball match prior to this scrimmage.  The ladies showed enthusiasm, confidence and good sportsmanship though-out the evening, besting the much older competition 2 out of 3 games to win the match.  Coach Nick Behrens and Coach Donald O’Shea state they are “beyond pleased” with how the girls played as a team, showing perseverance both on and off the court.
